ConsulMD is a group of physicians, all of whom have prior experience on Canadian medical school admissions committees. Dr. Marzoughi and Dr. Banerjee serve as the overseeing directors, guiding the quality and consistency of the mentorship every student receives.
Why ConsulMD exists
Both directors came into medicine without a map. They went from high school to study at the University of Alberta for undergraduate studies, then on to the University of Calgary for medical school, and worked out the unwritten parts of the process on their own. Which experiences were worth describing, how to talk about them, and when to ask for help. That took longer than it needed to, and left behind missteps they would have avoided with someone further along the path. ConsulMD grew out of that gap. The mentorship they now offer is the guidance they wish they had been given, so the process stops being something you have to guess your way through.

How we work
Applicants usually arrive with the same problem in different forms: the material is there, but the reasoning is not yet visible on the page or in the room. Our job is to make your reasoning legible without replacing your voice.
Sessions are one-to-one and online. You bring drafts, notes, or questions; we work through them together; you receive written feedback afterward from your mentor.
Who reviews your work
Your work is reviewed by Canadian physicians who have previous experience in the Canadian medical school admissions process.
We do not publish reviewer names, photographs, biographies, employers, schools, or training details. Keeping reviewers private lets them give candid feedback and avoids any suggestion of current institutional involvement or endorsement.

We teach frameworks you can apply to prompts nobody has seen, not answers to memorize.

Applying more than once is common and says nothing about your capability. We start with diagnosis, not blame.

ConsulMD is an independent educational mentorship service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any medical school, university, application service, or testing organization. Reviewers rely only on publicly available information and do not use confidential admissions materials.
