Refund and rescheduling policy

Coaching capacity is reserved for you personally and in limited numbers, so purchases are final. This page sets out what that means and how rescheduling works.

Before you buy

Every engagement begins with a free fit call. There is no obligation to purchase, and no payment is taken during that call. If we do not think a service is likely to help you, we will say so rather than sell it.

Fees, scope, and the number of sessions are confirmed with you in writing before payment. Please ask any question you have before you pay — that is the point of the fit call.

Purchases are final

No refunds after purchase

Once a service is purchased, the fee is non-refundable in whole or in part. This applies whether or not you use every session, submit every draft, or complete the engagement, and regardless of the outcome of any application.

This policy exists because:

  • We cap active clients at 12 so coaching stays one-to-one; buying a service removes that capacity from someone else.
  • Preparation, review time, and written feedback are delivered as the engagement runs and cannot be returned.
  • Admissions outcomes are decided by schools, not by us, and are never a measure of whether the service was delivered.

Purchases are also non-transferable to another person and cannot be exchanged for a different service or credited toward a future cycle unless we agree in writing.

Rescheduling sessions

Sessions can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled session. Requests with less than 24 hours notice mean that session is forfeit with no refund.

  • Email info@consulmd.ca as early as you can, and we will offer the next available times.
  • Each session can be rescheduled a maximum of two times to respect our reviewers' time.
  • Sessions are valid only for the application cycle they were purchased for and must be used within 30 days of purchase.
  • If we have to move a session, we will offer you a replacement time at no additional cost.

Missed sessions and late arrival

  • A session missed without notice is treated as delivered and is not refunded or rescheduled.
  • If you arrive late, we will use the time remaining in the booked slot rather than run past it, so the next client is not affected.
  • Repeated missed sessions may end the engagement; no refund is issued in that case.

If we cannot deliver

If we cancel an engagement, or become unable to deliver work you have paid for and cannot arrange a mutually acceptable replacement, we will refund the fee for the undelivered portion. This is the only circumstance in which we issue a refund.

If we end an engagement because of a breach of our Terms of service — for example a request to ghost-write or misrepresent an application — no refund is issued for work already delivered.

If something goes wrong

If you are unhappy with a session or a piece of feedback, tell us within 3 days of the session at info@consulmd.ca and describe what fell short. We reply to enquiries within five business days. Where we agree the work missed the scope we committed to, we will redo or extend that work at no cost. A concern raised this way is about delivery, not about the outcome of an application.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy removes any right you have under applicable Canadian federal or provincial consumer-protection law, including any cancellation or cooling-off right that cannot be waived. Where such a right applies, it prevails over this policy.
