Educational coaching scope
ConsulMD provides one-to-one educational coaching for people applying to Canadian medical schools. Coaching may include reviewing your own drafts, discussing how to structure and evidence your experiences, rehearsing interview responses, and giving written or verbal feedback.
Coaching is not legal advice, medical advice, career placement, tutoring for standardized tests, or an admissions consultancy acting on your behalf. We do not contact schools, referees, or admissions offices for you.
Our coaching promise
No affiliation
ConsulMD is an independent educational coaching service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any medical school, university, application service, or testing organization. Reviewers rely only on publicly available information and do not use confidential admissions materials.
References to schools, programs, or application services are descriptive only and do not imply any relationship, endorsement, or access.
No guarantee of outcomes
Admissions decisions are made solely by the schools and programs you apply to, using criteria and processes we do not control and cannot influence. We do not predict, promise, or guarantee an interview, an offer, a waitlist position, a score, or any other result.
Any description of past experience is a description of coaching work, not a claim about your likely outcome. We do not publish success rates or outcome statistics unless they are verified, and we will state the source and method if we ever do.
Your ownership and truthfulness
- Your application is yours. Every experience, claim, and sentence you submit must be your own, truthful, and accurate.
- You are solely responsible for the final content of anything you submit to a school or application service.
- You confirm that material you share with us is yours to share and does not breach anyone else's rights or confidentiality.
- You must verify all deadlines, eligibility requirements, and program rules directly with the relevant school or application service.
Prohibited use and academic integrity
We will not, under any circumstances:
- Write, ghost-write, or substantially author your application content.
- Invent, embellish, or misrepresent experiences, roles, hours, or credentials.
- Complete assessments, tests, or interviews on your behalf, or coach you to impersonate anyone.
- Use, reproduce, or distribute confidential admissions material, leaked interview stations, or non-public rubrics.
- Help you circumvent a school's rules on outside assistance.
You are responsible for checking whether a school or application service restricts outside assistance and for disclosing assistance where required. If we reasonably believe a request would breach academic integrity, we will decline it, and we may end the engagement without refund of work already delivered.
Scheduling and communication
- Sessions are scheduled by agreement and held by video call unless otherwise arranged.
- Email is our primary channel for everything else. We reply to enquiries within five business days.
- Please give as much notice as you can if you need to move a session; see the rescheduling terms in our refund policy.
- We may decline or end an engagement where the request falls outside our scope, where capacity is unavailable, or where conduct toward us is abusive.
Fees and taxes
Fees are confirmed with you before an engagement begins, following your free fit call. Fees are quoted in Canadian dollars and are payable in full before the corresponding work begins, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Applicable taxes are added where required by law.
Purchases are non-refundable. See the Refund policy.
Intellectual property
You keep all rights in the material you create, including your drafts and final application content. You grant us a limited right to use that material only to deliver coaching to you.
We keep all rights in our own materials — worksheets, frameworks, templates, checklists, written feedback structure, and the content of this website. They are licensed to you for your personal use in your own application and may not be copied, resold, published, or shared with others, including in group study materials or paid services.
Recording of sessions by either party requires the other party's advance written consent.
Confidentiality and its limits
We treat what you share as confidential and use it only to coach you. We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may disclose information where:
- You ask us to, or you have made the material public yourself.
- A service provider needs it to operate our email, scheduling, or storage systems.
- The law, a court order, or a regulator requires it.
- There is a serious and imminent risk of harm to you or another person.
We are not a regulated health service, and coaching conversations do not attract professional privilege. Please do not share clinical or personal health information with us.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in effect when your engagement begins governs that engagement. Material changes are recorded in the change log below, and the last reviewed date at the top of this page is updated.
